Cancelling all activities during March-April

Given the news of the last few hours with the confirmation of the first two cases with CoronaVirus (COVID-19) in Albania, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection announces that all public or non-public activities, gatherings, conferences, concerts, rallies, public hearings by April 3rd should be canceled. These measures are taken by the relevant authorities to limit the spread of COVID-19 to the wider population. That being said, at Open Labs all activities planned for March inside and outside of Open Labs will be canceled. Failure to comply with this order is punishable under the Infectious Disease Prevention Act.

Our conferences scheduled for May: Wikimedia Hackathon, OSCAL, openSUSE Summit

  • The Wikimedia Hackathon is the international event that Open Labs would organize on May 9-11 in collaboration with Wikimedia Foundation.
  • OSCAL is the conference that Open Labs organizes for 7 consecutive years for open source technologies. OSCAL will be postponed for fall 2020.
  • openSUSE Summit is a 2-day event that will be run in parallel with OSCAL and will gather the openSUSE community.

The Hackathon is officially cancelled while OSCAL and the openSUSE Summit will be postponed to fall 2020 considering the situation of the virus spreading locally in Albania. In any case, the health of the participants and their relatives remains a priority, and we will remain faithful to the decisions and orders of the government authorities that are managing the spread of COVID-19.
