Installing Nextcloud on Digital Ocean

February was a month full of activities for our hackerspace in Tirana. The community participated in the events to share knowledge and learn from each other new open source technologies.

In one of our events, community members organized a workshop on how to install Nextcloud using Digital Ocean. The event gathered experienced and junior sysadmins that shared their knowledge on how to use Nextcloud, the open-source cloud-based service, and deploy it on Digital Ocean’s platform. The workshop was part of our commitment to promote open-source technologies and foster collaboration between like-minded individuals that are into Nextcloud. The participants were introduced to Nextcloud, an established platform that allows individuals and organizations to store, share, and collaborate on files and data. During the workshop, the participants learned how to install Nextcloud on Digital Ocean’s platform, which is a cloud-based service that provides virtual private servers (VPS) and other cloud-based infrastructure. The workshop was led by Irdi, an Open Labs members who shared his knowledge and experience with the participants.

The event was made possible by the support of Digital Ocean, which has been supporting our community for quite some time. The hackerspace relies on the digital infrastructure provided by Digital Ocean to host its website, mailing lists, and other online services. This support has been crucial for the growth and success of our community, which has been active for more than 10 years. Open Labs members would like to thank Digital Ocean for its continued support and partnership. We highly appreciate the focus that Digital Ocean has on openness, collaboration, and innovation. The support provided by Digital Ocean has allowed our community to continue its work of promoting open-source technologies, fostering collaboration between like-minded individuals, and contributing to the growth and development of the technology sector in Albania and beyond.

Our community looks forward to organizing more events like this in the future and continuing its partnership with Digital Ocean to support the growth and development of open source technologies in Albania.
